Rubbish.
I planned to use Pepperstone as a backup broker. I believe I may have had an account with them before, but I can’t remember. Recently, I noticed their spreads were among the most competitive, so I thought I’d give them a try.
I completed KYC and made a small deposit of around £10K. They use a rather archaic system compared to some of the more modern brokers, which was a bit surprising.
As a rule of thumb, I always test deposits and withdrawals with a broker before committing fully, since companies in this space can be particularly shady when it comes to withdrawals. I wanted to make sure this wasn’t the case with Pepperstone, especially given some of the things I’ve read about them on Reddit.
Anyway, after being spammed by their account manager via phone and email, they randomly closed my account without warning. Luckily, it was just before I was about to deposit a larger sum.
A valiant effort in wasting time.

Update: Pepperstone did indeed get in touch and make a significant effort to put things right. I’ve upgraded my review to three stars in reflection of that. It’s good that they are at least willing to properly follow up when there are issues.
Documented 38% Price Deviation - Resolved
On Feb 3rd, while the global Natural Gas market (CME/NYMEX) was trading at $3.24, Pepperstone’s platform was stuck at 4.48—a staggering 38% deviation from the actual market price.
Despite having a recorded 34-minute call with support and a pending case (06428411), the firm refused to align their price with the global exchange or provide a resolution timeline. I was forced to close my position Under Protest to stop being charged daily swap fees (which were also calculated on their false ‘ghost’ price).
I have submitted a formal complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and have provided time-stamped screenshots of the CME exchange vs. the Pepperstone platform as evidence of this ‘off-market’ pricing.
If you value price transparency and Best Execution, be extremely cautious. A broker that quotes 38% away from the underlying exchange is not providing a fair trading environment.
Update: Following this review, the Pepperstone escalation team (Sam) contacted me and resolved the issue by refunding the disputed swap fees as a goodwill gesture. I appreciate the swift resolution once the matter was escalated to the right team. I have now closed my account and settled the matter.
Unsatisfactory feedback on queries
I was on the verge of depositing funds to my live account, but the alarming number of bad reviews stalled my intention to deposit funds. I seeked clarity via your whatsapp platform on the following:
1. Funds safety
2. Slow withdrawal complaints
3. Clients queried accounts, but feedback from Pepperstone on reviews would be that there’s no trace of the client on your database
I only got feedback on point 1 and not points 2 & 3 which I found alarming. I heard good things about Pepperstone, with detailed feedback and transparency, I think there’s still a chance I could join them as my choice of broker

Been using pepperstone for years with no issues. Simple request to change my email address on their system, they want more details than my bank requires when logging into their systems.
I think using 2FA to log in to your systems is good enough to prove that it’s me wanting to change something.
It’s not your customers fault that your systems are so badly coded that you can’t change your own email address.
